The steam tunnels and basement have to be one of the best things about the buildings at JFK Prep - the Salvatorian Seminary. You can get to most of the buildings through the tunnels and basements, best of all there is just as much underground as there is on the top side, it's damn near impossible to go through all the tunnels and basements here in one day. the last time I was here I spent the better part of my nine hour visit down in the tunnels exploring a system of tunnels and basements that look like I was the only person in since the boilers were last used in the 1951. This new discovery was made possible only because I was told about a big door that no one could get open and no one knew what was behind it, needless to say to say I went to seek out the mystery door and have my way with it. I had that door open in no time and headed straight in and was greeted by a good sized basement with five smaller rooms shooting off to the side, not finding the tunnel I was looking for I headed out in disappointment when I spotted the tunnel that I was after and so the exploration began of the tunnels and basements of the buildings that I haven't been in on my previous trips. The tunnels are now being sealed off to keep people from getting into the different building through the tunnels.
