The Quincy Mine opened in 1864, it was one of the most successful, longest
running, and one of the largest mines.
The mine is the most complete looking mine that Iv seen in the U.P so far.
The machine shop, blacksmith shop, hoist house, and the rock/shaft house is
still standing. The mine is probably best know for the Quincy rock/shaft house
#2, it looks like most of it is still there and is only one of three that I know of.
